YJ-5009A Volatile Base Nitrogen Analyzer (Semi-micro Kjeldahl Method) is an instrument developed in accordance with the requirements of the semi-micro Kjeldahl method device in the first method of GB5009.228—2016 National Food Safety Standard for Determination of Volatile Base Nitrogen in Foods. Volatile base nitrogen is an alkaline nitrogen-containing substance such as ammonia and amines produced by the decomposition of proteins in animal foods during putrefaction due to the action of enzymes and bacteria. Volatile base nitrogen is volatile, and is distilled out in an alkaline solution. After being absorbed by a boric acid solution, it is titrated with a standard acid solution to calculate the content of volatile base nitrogen.
